The Maharashtra State Commission for Women has recommended the 2005 Bill, ‘Protection Against Sexual Harassment of Women’ be amended...the commission release stated committees tended to be biased in favour of senior management personnel, and the victims seldom received justice.
The Bombay high court on Tuesday scrapped the proceedings of the three member complaints committee probing charges of sexual harassment and molestation against National Aluminium Corporation (Nalco) chief C Venkatramana and directed that a new independent committee be appointed.
