The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Grupo Vicini to respond to the following materials raising human rights concerns about its treatment of Haitian sugar cane workers in the Dominican Republic:

In response, Grupo Vicini sent this statement [PDF] (in Spanish), 21 Sep 2009, with the following three supporting documents questioning the source of the allegations, Father Christopher Hartley. They include a letter from a Dominican bishop, a press article, and a letter from Dominican senators:

The Resource Centre then received a rejoinder from Father Christopher Hartley to the company's response, available here [DOC] (in Spanish), 22 Sep 2009. He also sent the following materials, saying they are "indispensable to give credibility to my statements. Without these materials, my statements are worthless." They include letters to bishops, statements by a bishop, letter by Father Hartley, press releases and the BSI code of conduct:
