Junín, Ecuador: Police raid on the home of DECOIN director Carlos Zorrilla and concerns about alleged involvement of Ascendant Copper
On 17 October 2006, police conducted a raid on the home of Carlos Zorrilla, director of the environmental organisation DECOIN (Defensa y Conservación Ecológica de Intag) which has been campaigning against Ascendant Copper’s operations in Junín, Ecuador. The items below include concerns about Ascendant's alleged involvement in the raid and Ascendant's response, denying it was involved.
At the bottom of the page are documents relating to an OECD Guidelines complaint against Ascendant Copper, withdrawn in Jan 2006 by the NGOs that brought it due to their concerns over the effectiveness of the process.
