Taking stock: Reflections on the progress of the UN Binding Treaty

In the run-up to the 8th session of the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) on a proposed binding treaty, this blog series presents the reflections of experts from civil society organisations, academia and governments on the treaty process four years since the publication of the Zero Draft. It seeks to elevate voices from the ground to ensure they are included in in the treaty debate. Contributors share their hopes and concerns on the binding treaty process, reflecting the priorities for their regions. The series includes experiences from Brazil, Latin America and the Caribbeans, and Southern Africa, and covers thematic priorities like labour, and the complementarity of the treaty with the EU Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence.
