Bangladesh: H&M commits to operating digital wage payment system in all garment factories by 2020

Fashion retailer H&M is supporting a move to encourage textile factories in Bangladesh to switch from cash to digital wage payments to empower garment workers.

The Swedish company is making a commitment that all factories in its supply chain will operate digital payment systems for their employees by 2020.

It came as the textile industry gathered at the Bangladesh Digital Wages Summit in the capital city of Dhaka to promote a transition to digital wage payments.
