Myanmar: Trade unions & labour organisations call for economic sanctions against the military regime

On 1 February 2021, the Myanmar military seized control of the country, resulting in mass protests.

Since then, workers in the country have faced violent crackdowns and deteriorating working conditions, with trade unionists, activists and those who participate in the protests at risk of detention.

In response to the worsening situation, unions and labour organisations have called for economic sanctions to weaken the military.
