Unions & allies call on FIFA to respect human rights for 2026 World Cup

To win hosting rights for the 2026 World Cup, Canada, Mexico and the United States of America made commitments to respect human rights and labour rights and to assess potential host cities based on their plans to uphold these rights. As FIFA begins the process of selecting host cities, labour unions and their allies are organizing to ensure FIFA and host cities embed meaningful commitments to human rights and labour rights into planning and implementation of the games.

This page will host human rights-related updates and developments leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
