[DOC] Lufthansa response

[Lufthansa's response to concerns about transporting tear gas used in forceful repression of protests in Turkey] We are taking the events in Turkey and the comments that reached us very seriously. However, we would like to point out that Lufthansa Cargo complied with all laws and regulations in respect of the mentioned transport from the United States to Istanbul which took place more than half a year ago in September 2012. We strongly believe that it is the task of governments and international institutions to define the rules governing the transport of goods. As an airline, we cannot assume to judge the moral legitimacy of a consignment, which meets all legal requirements, to a democratic country and NATO member like Turkey. Of course we stand for transparency and welcome any open discussion on all channels.
