Francisco Belo Simões da Costa is the editor-in-chief of news portal Hatutan.com in East Timor. On 18 May 2022, he was sued by the Parliamentary Affairs and Social Communication Minister Francisco Martins da Costa Pereira Jerónimo, after he published a story on corruption and the minister’s alleged involvement in a fraudulent set-top box installation project.
