Kenya: Government agency & CSOs claim Facebook failing to stop hate speech ahead of general election; company comments

Kenya's National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has said that its internal investigations corroborate Global Witness' report that Facebook has failed tackle hate speech and incitement on the platform relating to the upcoming elections. The company has said that it has taken "extensive steps" to weed out hate speech and inflammatory content and is intensifying those efforts ahead of the election.
