Indigenous leader Chief Dsta’hyl, Adam Gagnon, of the nation’s Likhts’amisyu Clan, was arrested in October 2021 with Gitxsan Nation leader Kolin Sutherland-Wilson, and later released. They were arrested for supporting protesters who had blocked access to a Coastal GasLink pipeline work camp for several days and prevented supplies from reaching the camp. Wet’suwet’en chiefs oppose the constructions of the Coastal GasLink natural-gas pipeline through their territory in northern B.C., Canada. The company disputes the negative environmental impact of the work, while activists denounce potential environmental harm and cultural destruction.

Kolin Sutherland-Wilson was previously arrested in January 2020.
