Myanmar: Concerns mount over the role of Chinese weapons manufacturers in supporting junta

The report “Factory of Death” by the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar (SAC-M), alleges that China South Industries Group and its subsidiary, Hunan Vanguard, supplied thermobaric bombs, parts and technical support to Myanmar's military junta. This support included aiding aerial bomb production at the military-owned DI 21 factory.

Justice for Myanmar (JFM) reveals new evidence of the ongoing complicity of the Chinese state-owned company NORINCO in supplying weapons and technology to Myanmar’s military, including direct sales worth up to USD10m.

These civil society groups warn companies and corporate executives who provide military support to the Myanmar junta that they “may expose themselves to the risk of criminal and civil liability”.

China South Industries Group, Hunan Vanguard Group, NORINCO and its subsidiary China Wanbao Engineering did not respond to our request for comment.
