The Logan Report is based on the erroneous premise that "NEG's WRP fails to incorporate a single universal labor rights standard.” That is factually incorrect and a complete mischaracterisation of the policy. NEG's Workplace Rights Policy is taken almost directly from Human Rights Documents, in many cases verbatim. In drafting the Workplace Rights Policy, NEG referred to various international documents, including the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, ILO Conventions 87 and 98, the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the IPU Declaration of Criteria for Free and Fair Elections…Fundamentally, every key principle stated in NEG’s WPR is adopted from International conventions. Logan's contention that the NEG policy fails to incorporate such conventions is therefore erroneous and incorrect.
