Petition to Inter-American Commission over health impacts of chemical & petroleum factories in Mossville, Louisiana, USA

CONCERNS OVER ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES IN MOSSVILLE / LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA & COMPANY RESPONSES

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited the companies referred to in the following items to respond to the concerns raised:

- "Industrial Sources of Dioxin Poisoning in Mossville, Louisiana: A Report Based on the Government’s Own Data" [PDF], Mossville Environmental Action Now, Wilma Subra (The Subra Company), Advocates for Environmental Human Rights, July 2007

- "Health-US: Tiny Town Demands Justice in Dioxin Poisoning", Adrianne Appel, IPS News, 25 July 2007

- "Report Links Corporate Pollution to Dioxin Found in Blood of Louisiana Residents", Corporate Crime Reporter, 24 July 2007

The "Industrial Sources of Dioxin Poisoning" report states that facilities belonging to the following companies "are the sources of the elevated dioxin levels in the Mossville community". The companies' responses were as follows:

- ConocoPhillips did not respond
