Qatar World Cup: Progress Report provides update on Sustainability commitments

In October 2020, FIFA, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC released the FIFA World Cup 2022 First Sustainability Progress Report. The report provides an update on the progress made by the organisations on delivering on their five sustainability commitments made in their Sustainability Strategy published in 2019.

Under the human and social pillars of the Strategy, the report highlights the implementation of the SC programme to monitor compliance with its Workers Welfare Standards, expansion of the SC's recruitment fees reimbursement scheme, the provision of human rights and safety training to 2,000 police officers, assessments and improvements to the World Cup's accessibility for disabled people, and the implementation of FIFA's Anti-Discrimination Monitoring System at 168 World Cup qualifying matches played in 2019.
