The man visited the Gyeonggi Provincial office of the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Friday, and filed a complaint for not being paid a total of 50 million won ($35,100) in severance pay and unused annual paid leave by his former employer, operators of the factory he quit from in November.
On the way out, he encountered an official from the factory, and got into a fight. The altercation was not substantial enough to constitute an assault charge for either party, but the police officers who arrived on the scene found that the man had overstayed his visa.
Regardless of the illegal stay, officials of the Labor Ministry said they will investigate the man's claims and if they are found to be true, provide support for him to be paid the wages he is owed…
