Zijin Mining announced new investments in Serbia. This announcement came amidst a criminal complaint filed by the Renewables and Environmental Regulatory Institute (RERI), together with ten residents of Veliki Krivelj, against Zijin Copper over damages caused to their village.

RERI also called on the Ministry of Mining and Energy to revoke Zijin’s permit to exploit the Veliki Krivelj mines.

Zijin Mining denies the allegations, claiming that it has significantly reduced pollution in recent years, as well as invested in modern equipment to address pollution.
