Court Ruling No. 123842517, dated December 16, 2024, Industrial District Court of Dnipro
A prosecutor from the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office (a division of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office) filed a motion to seize property in criminal case No. 42024040000000365 dated August 15, 2024, under Part 1, Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (pollution or damage to land).
The motion was officially assigned to an investigating judge of the Industrial District Court of Dnipro on December 13, 2024.
An ongoing pre-trial investigation by the Dnipropetrovsk police revealed that officials of three companies—Prombudresurs KR LLC, Rudopraym LLC, and Kaiman LLC—were illegally processing (burying) industrial waste from PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih without the required permits.
The waste was being dumped on a 10-hectare plot of land (part of a larger parcel leased by ArcelorMittal), causing soil pollution and environmental hazards.
The court approved the prosecutor's request and ordered a seizure of property that had been confiscated on December 6, 2024, during an inspection of the contaminated site.
