USA: Amazon shareholders partake in 'historic' vote on freedom of association & collective bargaining

"Historic Amazon shareholders' vote on freedom of association and collective bargaining", 25 May 2022

The following statement on Amazon shareholders’ meeting can  be attributed to Christy Hoffman, General Secretary of UNI Global Union:

“Today’s historic vote is in itself a strong message to Amazon: Management must start listening, first to the workers who made Bezos megarich, and then to the growing shareholder community demanding fundamental rights for workers,” said Christy Hoffman, General Secretary of UNI Global Union. “In 2022, investors are starting to signal that corporations need to get real about enforcing international labour standards—including the right to form and join unions."
