USA: Migrant worker files lawsuit against Subway alleging "years" of wage theft, among other abuses incl. retaliation for raising complaints & verbal abuse

In October 2024, it was reported that a migrant worker filed a lawsuit against fast food restaurant franchise, Subway, after being allegedly subjected to wage theft, verbal abuse, unsafe conditions, and retaliation for raising complaints in Los Angeles.

The worker alleges she was denied around USD54,000 in wages over three years. Her hours have allegedly been 'cut by half' following the complaints.

The worker went on strike after engaging with the Service Employees International Union Local 721.

Subway did not respond to journalist's requests for comment.
