On 7 May, Andrey Nevdakha, an activist, who opposes the construction of a battery plant near Brest, was charged with participation in an unauthorized mass event (art. 23.34 of the Administrative Code) and fined 810 rubles. For over two years, local residents have been protesting against the construction of the battery plant over health and environmental concerns.
