140 garment workers injured in factory stampede, bus crash [Bangladesh]

At least 140 garment workers, including a pregnant woman, were injured in fresh incidents of factory stampede and a related bus in the port city yesterday. Of the injured victims, condition of 20 was stated to be critical... about 10,000 garment workers of 12 factories of a six-storey building in Muradpur forced their way out to safety after an electric transformer...exploded... About 100 of the workers trying to escape through narrow stairs were injured in a stampede... Sources said, there were a total of 12 garment factories, including PT Apparels, Jurking Garment, Green Fair, PMG, Charulata, Star Knit, Combined Apparels, all located at the six-storey building.
