Ricky Olado, a member of the lumad organization “Tinanaon Kulamanon Lumadnong Panaghiusa” in the Philippines was murdered by two armed men in motorcycles who shot him several times. His organization fights for land rights against the interests of multinational corporations as well as mining and logging companies. The killings have sparked the mass exodus of tens of thousands of lumads from the hinterlands of the province.
