70 million child labourers in Pakistan: ILO

In a report, titled “Accelerating Action against Child Labour”, the ILO said the global trends in child labour showed a decline from 2004 to 2008. However, the decline was slowing. There are still 215 million children caught up in child labour, according to the report. The only reference made in the report about Pakistan pertained to the decade-long collaboration between Fifa and ILO-IPEC in the football goods industry. The report said the project was a good example of successful public-private partnership in eliminating child labour.
