Access to Remedy in Global Supply Chains
Workshop | 3 February | Berlin
Join us for the upcoming amfori Workshop: Access to Remedy in Global Supply Chains - Opportunities and challenges of non-State-based grievance mechanisms in Berlin, Germany.
'Access to Remedy' is one of the three core pillars of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). Eight years after the adoption of the UNGPs we call on all interested stakeholders to tackle together the following topics:
- Elaborate on the status quo of undertaken efforts;
- Assess what 'effective' access to remedy should look like;
- Identify challenges and best practices in relation to non-State-based grievance mechanisms; and
- Discuss potential future pathways in moving towards ensured access to remedy for impacted stakeholders in global supply chains.
Confirmed speakers include: Surya Deva (UNWG B&HRs), Jennifer Zerk (OHCHR), Jennifer Schappert (OECD), Lalanath de Silva (GCF – Independent Redress Mechanism), Carlos Lopez (ICJ), Maren Barthel (Elevate), Margreet Vrieling (Fair Wear), Lisa Laplante (University New England - Law Centre for International Law), Yakut Oktay (amfori BSCI Lead), Mark Wielga (Nomogaia), Sheila Keetharuth (Member of the Working Group on Extractives Industries, Environment and Human Rights Violations of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and Policy)
