...The cultivation methods described here are in no way compatible with our understanding of ecologically responsible and socially just cultivation conditions. It is important to us that production of goods is carried out under humane and socially just working conditions. This includes the responsible use of natural resources... The implementation of our principles is promoted, among others, through the certification of our producers and suppliers... Some of the avocados we stock are imported from Chile. Improvement to working and production conditions at the cultivation stage is carried out under special, country-specific conditions. These are highly complex political, social and economic challenges that intersect within the countries themselves... We will continue to closely monitor the developments in Chile and to work with our suppliers, to whom we have long-standing business relationships, to implement our CR principles along the entire supply chain...
