Amazon Indians begin cutting a boundary in the forest to keep illegal loggers out of their land [Brazil]
The Deni Indian community have begun to cut a physical border around their territory in the Amazon rainforest. This demarcation of their lands is an attempt to protect their traditional territory from industrial exploitation. Without this demarcation the Deni lands would be vulnerable to land grabs by logging companies which are after the wealth of natural resources that rightfully belong to the Deni.
