Amnesty calls for action on Caspian

Amnesty International last night called on the government to turn down requests from oil group BP to provide export credit guarantees for a controversial Caspian pipeline project. The campaign group claims human rights are being endangered by the £2.9bn scheme and accused Britain's largest company of encouraging Turkey to disregard European conventions.
