APM mall cleaners are still in dire straits [Hong Kong, China] [subscription required]

The workers at the APM mall, managed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, have told a union they are [being] paid [very low salaries]...Ms Wong [the union's secretary], who staged a protest yesterday at the mall, said they were only allowed to eat on a staircase...She said cleaning contractor Gain Wai was paying half the workers' wages in housing allowances to avoid the full monthly Mandatory Provident Fund contributions [also refers to Grand Century Place, Metroplaza].
