"APM Terminals Bahrain marks ‘Global Safety Day’", 09 May 2015

APM Terminals Bahrain, a subsidiary of leading port infrastructure and operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP), recently held a range of activities as part of the global celebrations commemorating Global Safety Day that was celebrated across all of the APM Terminals around the world. The event, this year, was moved up to April, in line with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the United Nations (UN) who celebrate World Day for Health at Work on April 28 every year, said a statement. To mark the celebrations, APM Terminals Bahrain joined APM Terminals ports around the world in rolling out its Fatal-5 Standards, which were critical areas identified as the highest risk areas to focus on in order to eliminate fatalities and further promote safe operations, which are underpinned by minimum controls on each of the five critical areas. The theme of this year was the theme was ‘Safe at Home, Safe at Work’ - an initiative aimed at improving safety culture both at work as well as at home; with an emphasis on one of the Fatal 5 standard of ‘Transportation Safety.’ All of the employees of APM Terminals Bahrain took part in the activities...
