Armenian-Russian Mining Company response regarding concerns over health impacts of its planned uranium project

[Original company response in Russian; following summary of the response's key points provided by Business & Human Rights Resource Centre] Armenian-Russian Mining Company is only conducting a geological survey of uranium deposits. The survey meets all existing standards and underwent a required expert assessment conducted by the Ministry of Environment of Armenia…[O]ur company organized public hearings in the area with the purpose of informing local residents about the study. Our company collaborates with governmental structures, including Emergency Ministry, and is open to a professional dialogue with all interested organisations and individuals...If the results show that there are uranium deposits, the next step would be to submit the results to the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Before this is done, it is too early to discuss uranium mining from the professional point of view.
