ASIA-PACIFIC: Sweden, UNEP Sign $1.3M Accord To Cut Greenhouse Gases

Sweden today signed a $1.3 million agreement with the U.N. Environment Program on a project to reduce industrial greenhouse gas emissions in the Asia-Pacific region...The three-year agreement...is intended to develop governmental and industrial capacity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, implement pilot projects in individual industry facilities and review government policies on energy use in industry. The project will be implemented in China, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
