"Coles workers claim they were underpaid $150 million in new class action", 15 May 2020
Coles workers have launched a class action that claims the supermarket giant allegedly underpaid staff over $150 million....
Employment law firm Adero Law...filed a class action in the Federal Court covering more than 5000 former and current Coles workers. It estimates the Coles underpayment claim will be more than $150 million and could be as high as $200 million.
...Coles said it believed the class action was without merit and would defend it.
"Coles has committed to finalising its review and remediating affected team members as soon as possible," the company said.
Coles has advised its existing team members of the issue and is aiming to commence remediation for relevant current team members in mid-2020 and former team members shortly thereafter. Coles will deal directly with current and former team members or their nominated union in relation to these issues."
