Balkans – source, transit and destination for human trafficking

The U.S. Department of State released its annual Trafficking in Persons Report. The Balkan states are seen as source, transit, and a destination point for men, women, and children. The report says the governments in the region make efforts to fight this type of crime, but none of them have achieved full elimination of the problem...Bulgaria is seen as a source, transit, and, to a lesser extent, a destination country for men, women, and children...for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor...Macedonia is seen as a source, transit, and destination country for women and children trafficked for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation...Greece is seen as a destination and transit country for women and children trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation and for men and children trafficked for the purpose for forced labor...Romania is seen as a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor...
