Bangladesh: Garment brands contribute to low wages, long working hours & child labour alleges report

A study by Stop Child Labor and SOMO found that international clothing brands such as H&M, C&A, Esprit and Marks & Spencer may be indirectly contributing to child labor in Bangladesh. The report found a link between child labour and low wages in the textile sector, forcing many parents to send their children to work. All brands and retailers that are known to have their goods produced in at least one of the factories where the interviewed workers are employed received and were given the opportunity to review a draft version of this report which also includes an overview of policies and measures taken against child labour.
