'Blood Diamonds' Fund More Than Terrorism

..."Blood diamonds" provide the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) in Sierra Leone with between $25 million and $125 million per year. They not only financed the RUF's war; they continue to be a major impediment to the establishment of lasting peace in that country and throughout the West African region, despite the continuing efforts of the United Nations.
