Isreal & Occupied Palestinian Territories: Protesters block Israeli ship from docking at California port

Thousands of protesters successfully blocked a commercial Israeli cargo vessel from docking and unloading goods in Oakland, California... The protest was staged in response to a call from Palestinian and South African unions to hold Israel accountable for what they allege are violations of Palestinians’ human rights - particularly during Israel’s latest offensive in the Gaza Strip... between 3,000 to 5,000 protesters, [took] part of a series of actions planned by U.S. and Canadian activists across North America’s west coast under the campaign “Block the Boat.” Similar protests will take place in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, on Wednesday, and later in Vancouver... Block the Boat targets Israel’s largest cargo shipping company, Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. If the entire series of port blockades are successful, it would effectively lock out Israeli commercial shipping from the west coasts of both the United States and Canada, activists said

Israel & Occupied Palestinian Territories: 1,000 attend BDS rally outside Boston HP conference

Some 1,000 demonstrators marched to a Hewlett-Packard conference in Boston to protest the company’s sale of equipment to the Israel Defense Forces...The protesters demanded an end to Israel’s blockade of Gaza, as well as an economic boycott and sanctions against Israel. The protesters targeted HP because it sells information technology systems to the IDF.

Coffee giant Starbucks has been forced once again to deny rumors that the company or its chief executive financially support Israel and its army.'This is absolutely untrue,' the company said in a statement in response to the swelling hoax that the coffee chain and CEO Howard Schultz donate millions of dollars to support the Israel Defense Forces... Starbucks closed its last store in Israel in 2003 amid 'operational challenges,' denying the decision had a political slant.

As a new round of violence kicks off in Israel-Palestine and more children are killed, it's not enough just to call for another ceasefire. It’s time to take definitive non-violent action... Sign the petition on the right and call on 6 key banks, pension funds and businesses to pull out -- If we all take smart action now and turn up the heat, they could withdraw, the Israeli economy will take a hit, and we can turn the calculation of the extremists politically profiting from this hell upside down.
