Business & Human Rights Internship at the German Institute for Human Rights

The German Institute for Human Rights, Germany’s national human rights institution under the UN Paris Principles, is offering an internship in the Business and Human Rights section of the Institute.  The internship is available from 1 July 2015 for a minimum of three months.  While the majority of your time will be spent working on Business and Human Rights subjects, it may be possible to gain some experience of other topics or areas of the Institute’s work.

Some prior knowledge of human rights protection or experience of human rights work is an advantage.  Candidates with a working knowledge of German are preferred, though this is not an absolute requirement.

Internships are generally for at least three months full time, though an equivalent part-time internship may be negotiable, especially in the case of current students or interns with financial support from their home institutions.

Full-time interns at the Institute are paid 450 Euro per month and are responsible for their own health and social insurance.

We especially encourage applications from people with a recognized disability or who consider themselves as belonging to a racial or ethnic minority.

Applications must be submitted using the online form at by 8 May 2015. Please contact Christopher Schuller ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
