CA [Court of Appeals] slashes back pay of PAL flight attendants, keeps retirement age [Philippines]

FLAG carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will only have to pay P100 million of the original P220-million back wages of its flight attendants, whose compulsory retirement age was retained by the Court of Appeals [CA]. The CA…said…that Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz erred when she based PAL's financial standing on the records of another company…The Court said…figures were enough to justify the "precarious financial condition" of the…airline…On retirement age, the CA respected the contract entered into by PAL and Fasap over the years.
