Le procureur général de l'Etat porte plainte contre six constructeurs [Chrysler (filiale de DaimlerChrysler), General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan] pour leur contribution au réchauffement climatique... «Toute tentative de réduire les émissions de CO2 revient à réguler la consommation des véhicules, et seul le gouvernement fédéral y est habilité, pas les Etats», a réagi un porte-parole de l'Alliance des constructeurs automobile, qui regroupe les trois principaux constructeurs américains et Toyota. El estado de California en Estados Unidos demandó a seis de las más grandes empresas fabricantes de vehículos del mundo [Ford, General Motors, Honda, Chrysler (parte de DaimlerChrysler), Nissan y Toyota] por la emisión de gases que generan el efecto invernadero... La Alianza de Fabricantes de Automóviles...calificó la demanda de "un fastidio" y sugirió que el caso sea desestimado.

California sues carmakers over global warming

California sued six of the world's largest automakers [Chrysler (part of DaimlerChrysler), Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Toyota] over global warming on Wednesday, charging that greenhouse gases from their vehicles have caused billions of dollars in damages. The lawsuit is the first of its kind to seek to hold manufacturers liable for the damages caused by their vehicles' emissions, state Attorney General Bill Lockyer said... Ford deferred comment to the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, which said... "...[A] similar nuisance suit that was brought by [state] attorneys-general against utilities was dismissed by a federal court in New York," the industry group said in a statement...Honda said in a statement it was committed to developing environmentally responsible technology. The other automakers had no immediate comment.
