Campaign Wants Paper Companies to ‘Come Clean’

A new shareholder campaign for the 2001 proxy season will try to get pulp and paper companies to be more forthcoming about the potential environmental liabilities they face. Bruce Herbert of Newground Investments in Seattle, Wash., is spearheading the campaign, which is expected to target up to a dozen U.S. forest products companies.
