Below are select introductory materials on business and child labour.  Further reports from a wide range of sources are in the child labour section of our site.

Concerns, company responses & non-responses

The Resource Centre invites companies to respond to allegations of misconduct.  Below are examples of allegations and company responses regarding child labour.  We also indicate when a company has not responded.

India: NGO report says child labour continues in cotton supply chain - some bonded, Sep 2007.  Responses by Bayer, Monsanto.

Karnataka, India: Mines, minerals & PEOPLE says child labour used in iron ore and granite mines, Apr 2005.  Responses by Jindal Vijayanagar Steel, National Mineral Development Corporation.  No response received from Mysore Minerals.

Mexico: LabourStart campaign alleges child labour at Rubie's Costume Co. facility, reportedly supplying Time Warner, Oct 2005.  Responses by Rubie's, Time Warner.

Nigeria: Business Day (Nigeria) alleges child labour at Lee Group factory, May 2008.   Lee Group response.
