Alien child workers are being taught to lie to labour inspectors that they are over 16 and happy to work, a seminar on human trafficking heard yesterday. Sathaporn Charupa, chief of the Labour Protection and Welfare Department, said child workers were told by factory owners that officers would arrest them and jail them at Ban Kret Trakarn if they admit being under-age. In fact, Ban Kret Trakran is a refuge for abused women and children.
