The cocoa and chocolate industry yesterday took a step toward ending long-standing abusive child labour practices in the cocoa trade of West Africa, where 56% of cocoa beans are grown. Chocolate makers and processors said they want to end the mistreatment in Ivory Coast and Ghana in particular.
