CII and UNIFEM sign MoU to advance gender equity [India]

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a function organized jointly by CII and UNIFEM, yesterday evening. According to the MoU, efforts will be made to advance gender equity through technical assistance in India. UNIFEM will give CII policy support for its members to realize commitments made by India in international conventions and agreements...Under the MoU, CII and UNIFEM will advance gender equality through technical assistance by institutionalising gender sensitive policies that will address sexual harassment at the work place, an engendered response to gender, poverty, trade, risk to HIV/AIDS in the context of reshaping globalisation.
