The final report from the National Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Canadian Extractive Industry in Developing Countries will be released at a press conference on Thursday, March 29 at 10:00 am. The final report was jointly written by an Advisory Group that included representatives from civil society and industry. The report presents a set of consensus-based recommendations for a framework of good conduct for Canadian mining, oil and gas companies operating in developing countries. The multi-stakeholder roundtable process and the final report are the first of their kind in the world. The implementation of the resulting recommendations will position Canada as a global leader on Corporate Social Responsibility with respect to the extractive industry.
