Mitigation

Businesses have an important role in mitigating climate change and its impacts on human rights by reducing or preventing emission of greenhouse gases.  Steps companies can take include improving energy efficiency of their operations and shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

A growing movement of NGOs, foundations, and universities is calling for divestment from fossil fuels, to speed a transition to less-polluting forms of energy.
