The closing session of the 3 rd edition of “Business and Human Rights” Summer School is aimed at discussing the current and future landscape of Business and Human Rights and the impact of COVID-19 crisis on the implementation of the UNGPs. Indeed, the global pandemic and the economic crisis inevitably following in its wake has become an unprecedented test for governments and businesses not to lower human rights standards, and demonstrate the dire need for better safeguards, especially for vulnerable workers in both developed and developing economies across sectors, but also for consumers and all members of society. The pandemic crisis is also blatantly putting on display and amplifying existing and growing inequalities. If left unaddressed, they present a fundamental challenge to human dignity and sustainable development.
