Companies Told ‘When in Rome Do As Romans’ [South Korea]

Korean companies operating in overseas markets are advised to respect local religions and culture as much as they can. The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI)...published a manual on ethical behavior for Korean companies in foreign countries that could help them conduct their businesses smoothly. The manual points out that overseas firms may face serious difficulties if they fail to understand local customs and religions. It also proposed that overseas companies contribute socially instead of offering gifts or bribes to locals. [refers to Nike]
