Contractor dumps human waste in homesteads [Uganda]

Tullow Oil Uganda yesterday blamed its sub-contractor, Saracen Uganda Limited, after the company was again thrust into the spotlight for allegedly dumping two trucks of human waste in Kakindo village...Tullow Oil corporate affairs manager Cathy Adengo said...“Our contractor Saracen Uganda Limited have taken responsibility of their actions and have addressed the matter...cleaned up the area, engaged with the district officials and apologised to the community,” she said. “Of course this is highly regrettable and all the necessary steps shall be taken to ensure this situation never happens again in future.”...“Waste products of human beings were taken and deposited just within the community near Kasemene (Oil Well) three and that was very dangerous to us and it caused us diseases,” Mr Henry Tumwesige, the general secretary of Kakindo Cell [said.] [refers to Luma Peter and Sons]
